Five on Friday - December 11, 2020

Happy Friday! I hope you've all had a good week - it's pretty crazy for me. I have been in Edmonton doing some instructing for the week, so I've been living in a dorm room and away from home for a few days. Also, Alberta is basically going into full lock-down now for 4 weeks and it's pretty tough - it's over Christmas. Lots of people have been calling for this for weeks so we could have a small Christmas and it sucks, because now we get nothing. Of course, it will be lovely with the husband and kids - it's just hard without our parents involved too. But, on a good note, the first vaccine was approved in Canada and we will slowly start rolling that out, so it feels like there is a little hope on the other side of a long tunnel!

ONE

November Owlcrate
I purchased everything in this post - this post contains affiliate links

I received my November Owlcrate subscription and this month's theme is "Growing Wild" - I actually skipped the past couple of months, but was so excited about this theme and I love this box. Each month the book Owlcrate includes is signed by the author and comes with a note from the author as well - they often have special edition covers just for the box, and they seem to include a lot of exclusive items just for Owlcrate, which is so fun! As a bookworm, I have been loving this subscription!

The items included in this month's box are:
  • Book - Among the Beasts and Briars by Ashley Poston ~ this book is about haunted magical woods and it was on my lists of books I want to read this year, so I was very excited to see it included in this box! This edition is stunning and it has sprayed pink edges as well as art on the back of the dust jacket. It's lovely.
  • Necklace ~ this is a pendant with dandelions in it and it's quite cute! It also come in a pretty jewellery box with an embossed print on it from Wild Beauty, designed by Studio Kyra
  • Art Prints ~ this box includes five art prints that look like vintage prints and Rheannon Ormond that recreates some plants from Middle Earth - you can send these as postcards or display them!
  • Enamel Pin ~ this month's pin is inspired by a magical bear that comes along for a journey in the book and this super cute pin was designed by Morgane Brret Shop
  • Reading Planner ~ Owlcrate included a reading planner again (which I love) and it was designed by Blue Star Press. I preferred the print of the last year's reading planning, but this one is cute too.
  • Planner Stickers ~ to go along with the planner, they also included some cute exclusive botanical planner stickers from Pipsticks! These are super cute.
  • Wooden Flower Press ~ what a fun item to include - a flower press! I've never seen this in a subscription box and it fits the theme so well! The art on the front was inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic and created by Peppermint Lines
If you are interested in signing up, Owlcrate is $29.99 US per month, plus shipping, ($14.99 to Canada).

TWO
Last weekend I bought the last Christmas present, wrapped all my gifts and got all my Christmas cards sent out! Phew, was such a relief to get everything done and I don't need to worry about anything last minute in a time where it helps not to have to run out unless it's necessary!

THREE

I'm happy that last weekend, my friend and I decided to get our little guys together for our Christmas gift exchange - these little guys go to daycare together, so we felt safe meeting at a park and they had a blast opening gifts and playing. The weather was so nice and it's probably good timing before it gets cold again!

FOUR

While I was in Edmonton, I drove out to Sherwood Park and stopped by Creme de la Creme Beauty Lounge and made my own custom lipstick! It was a fun experience and they even make the nail polish fresh when you are in store! This was awesome - I want to do a full review and will probably get to it in January!

FIVE

I just got my Smash and Tess x The Birds Papaya Jemma Autumn Romper in the mail and I love the addition of the tie on the waist and this was comfy as usual (if it helps to know my problem, I had to take off my Smash and Tess pink romper to try on this one - welcome to my lockdown wardrobe.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
