Hey guys, I hope your year is getting off to a good start!
A couple of days ago Sabine posted an instagram video using liquid latex as an alternative to Liquid Palisade and well I ordered a bottle right there and then. It came a few days ago and I am in love so it deserves it's own blog post. I hope you'll find this useful and interesting!
Word of caution: If you are allergic to Latex do not use this product.
Liquid Palisade retails for $22 for 10ml which is supposed to last for 50 manis. Liquid Latex can be found on Amazon, Ebay, craft stores for around £5 for 250ml, Sabine paid 8 Euros for 500ml so the price varies but it's a lot cheaper when compared to Liquid Palisade. I don't think you'll ever run out a bottle that size! Just ensure the liquid latex you buy is safe for sking.
The ingredients in both products are very similar but the Palisade has added pigment in it. If for some reason you want yours to be coloured instead of white/clear then you simply add a bit of acrylic paint, food colouring etc.
So does it work well? Yes it's amazing! I used to use PVA glue but it takes forever to dry and you can't use it for watermarbling so this a very good alternative, it dries super fast, it's runnier and thicker than pva so it's less likely to rip when you peel it off. You can use this on the skin around the nail to ease clean up, peel off base coat and in nail art.
I poured some into an empty nail polish bottle to make it easier to use.
Awesome! I don't have a bad word to say about it, except oh it does a little bit of a funny smell which disappears once it's dry.
